Karen Maezen Miller is the author of two books, Momma Zen and Hand Wash Cold. A resident of Sierra Madre for nearly 15 years, she previously had a career in journalism and public relations. She writes for national magazines and websites, and her essays have been included in several anthologies. Her advice to aspiring writers is to practice writing every day, and to remember that we write to teach ourselves. There is no end to what we can discover through our own fingertips.
