Our charities for 2010 include the Sierra Madre Youth Activity Center (YAC) and the Rotaplast Foundation.

Both entities create Children's Smiles Around the World in the communities they serve.

We are acting locally and building bridges internationally with this community outreach. Each $500 raised pays for a cleft palate surgery for a child or adult who needs medical attention the most. Locally, our funds will support the fine arts program for the Youth Activity Center in our own backyard. All net proceeds raised from A Taste of Sierra Madre this year will be equally shared between the two organizations.

Please watch the video link here to see how your generosity will positively impact these individuals who are waiting for a cleft palate surgery by the Rotaplast Foundation.

Sierra Madre Youth Activity Center ( YAC )

For summer 2010 the Youth Activity Center has planned summer field trips every other Friday where participants can sign up and attend places such as the beach, Raging Waters, ice skating, bowling and Magic Mountain.

The YAC plans to offer more classes, events and guest speakers to the youth program starting in fall. The YAC's goals this upcoming school year is to provide bi-weekly guest speakers to the youth that intrigue their interest in future goals and to better feed their knowledge of health and growth while becoming young adolescents.

Cooking classes were a success this winter and spring.  YAC staff provided 2 sessions of 5 week classes of planned entries and dessert receipts that were made from scratch by the youth participants who paid to join the class. Another series of cooking classes will be offered this fall and winter for new youth to learn basic skills to cook.
